In addition, Joris holds the position of Tech Community Lead (Africa) at the Wikimedia Foundation, a role undertaken since September 2020. Prior to these roles, Joris worked as the Technical and Programs Officer at Open Foundation West Africa from September 2018 to March 2020, contributing to various technical initiatives and program development.

The MakersPlace is an internationally accredited STEM organization in Ghana today. We are leveraging emerging technologies within Robotics, Drone technology, Mechatronics, TinyML, Coding, Game development, computer-aided design (CAD), and 3D printing to skill the future workforce today. We are driven by impact; therefore, we use highly certified STEAM facilitators who have the requisite knowledge and know-how to facilitate the skills development of students, teachers, and other participants within the K-12 education band. As the premier K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education solutions provider with certified STEM facilitators, we always make sure our facilitators have the requisite certifications before allowing them to facilitate training. We have a solid team of experts; active engineers with diverse experiences who are passionate about the skills development of Ghana and Africa's future workforce today.
