Executive Director and CEO at The Michigan & State Theaters - Marquee Arts

Molly Rowan-Deckart serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Marquee Arts, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving historic theaters and promoting community inspiration in Michigan since January 2025. Prior to this role, Rowan-Deckart held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Alliance for the Arts, where strategic planning and leadership were key responsibilities from February 2021 to January 2025. As Executive Director of the Boise Film Foundation from January 2017 to February 2021, Rowan-Deckart focused on advocating for the creative economy and fostering independent film growth through innovative fundraising strategies. Additionally, in the role of Festival Director for the Idaho Horror Film Festival from November 2013 to February 2021, successful implementation of community-engaged programming and branding was achieved. Rowan-Deckart began this professional journey as Vice-President at Parkside Schools Inc, directing program planning and budget management from January 2000 to December 2012. Education was pursued at Boise State University.

Marquee Arts is a Michigan-based nonprofit committed to keeping community inspiration alive through the preservation and programming of historic theaters. Curators of film, theater and live entertainment, we proudly oversee the operations, upkeep and artistic direction of the State and Michigan theaters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Marquee Arts is the founding entity for Michigan’s Cinetopia Film Festival and curator of the always-on series of theater productions, Not Just For Kids. While both theaters serve as community hubs, the Michigan’s main auditorium hosts the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, the University of Michigan’s University Musical Society, the Ark, Live Nation Worldwide and many more. Rooted in Michigan’s artistic history, the organization is committed to producing state of the art creative programming, unparalleled in diversity, quality and scope.
