The Retreat
Courtney Hyland possesses extensive experience in educational roles, currently serving as Associate Director of Education at The Retreat since September 2019, with previous positions including Prevention Education Specialist and Distance Learning Specialist. Prior experience includes roles as Training Coordinator at Plum Island Animal Disease Center and Graduate Assistant at the University of West Florida. Additional experience in education features positions such as 5th Grade Teacher at Douglas Jamerson Elementary School and 4th Grade Teacher in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. Courtney Hyland holds a Specialist of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master’s Degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from the University of West Florida, along with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida.

The Retreat is a 501(c)(3) domestic violence organization which provides a wide array of direct services, including five core services of Crisis Hotline, Domestic Violence Shelter, Legal Advocacy, Counseling, and Prevention Education.
