Nichole David

Director Of Educational Operations at The River School

Nichole David began their work experience as an Administrative Assistant at the Washington Montessori Institute in 1996. Nichole then joined the Mater Amoris Montessori School in 1998, where they worked as a Primary Teacher until 2002. From 2002 to 2006, they served as an Administrator at the same school. In 2006, they joined the Aidan Montessori School as the Director of Toddler and Primary Programs, a position they held for over a decade until 2017. Currently, they work as the Director of Educational Operations at The River School.

Nichole David's education history includes a Master of Education (MEd) in Montessori Teacher Education from Loyola University Maryland, which was obtained between 1997 and 1998. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and French at The University of Kansas from 1991 to 1995. Starting in 1990 and before transferring to The University of Kansas, Nichole also attended Hampshire College, although the specific degree and field of study during this time are unknown.

The River School

A premier educational program for children 18 months through Grade 3 in Northwest Washington, DC. The River School’s innovative educational model pairs a master’s level educator and a speech language pathologist in each classroom, and focuses on language, literacy and social development. Classroom practice emphasizes experiential and collaborative learning, using thematic curriculum to seamlessly integrate literacy, math, science, drama, music, art, physical education and yoga. The River School’s unique inclusion program is internationally acclaimed. Most students (85% or more) are children with normal hearing; each classroom includes a few children with hearing loss who use cochlear implants or hearing aids. The teaching team supports all of the children in the classroom, with every student greatly benefiting from the rich educational experience.
