Susan Riehl has extensive experience in human resources, primarily in the non-profit sector. Susan has held various roles throughout their career, including Managing Director of Human Resources at The Rockefeller Foundation and Talent Acquisition Specialist at the Institute of International Education. Prior to that, they served as a Recruiter at CARE and Save the Children, and as a Senior Recruitment Specialist at Save the Children. Susan began their HR career at the International Rescue Committee, where they held the position of Deputy Vice President of Human Resources for over 14 years.

Susan Riehl has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Chinese Language from Middlebury College. Susan also holds a Master's Degree in History of Southeast Asia from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Additionally, Susan attended The Spence School for their high school education.
