Rachael Grauwelman-Smith

Rachael Grauwelman-Smith currently serves as the DG Net Zero Chief of Staff and Head of Strategic Support with The Scottish Government since July 2022, following a tenure as Head of Home First in Health and Social Care. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Manager and Senior Policy Adviser with the Department for Child Protection in South Australia from 2016 to February 2024, and as an Ambassador for Healthy Development Adelaide (HDA) from September 2021 to November 2023, where HDA focuses on the intersection of research, service delivery, and policy development for children's health. Earlier positions include Solicitor at the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement Inc, Legal Research Assistant at the Centre for Work + Life, Project Officer and Centre Coordinator at the Australian Centre for Child Protection, and Paralegal at Women's Legal Service (SA) Inc. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International Studies from the University of Adelaide, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University, and admissions to practice in various courts across Australia.
