David Rae

David Rae serves as the Head of People and Culture at The Smith Family since July 2023, previously holding key positions such as Acting Head of People and Culture and National Manager of Strategic HR Partnering. With extensive experience in human resources, David has contributed significantly to the University of Sydney from October 2018 to October 2023 as Senior Manager HR Partnering, where notable achievements included managing compliance with the Fair Work Act, leading strategic HR initiatives, and supporting faculty engagement. Earlier roles include Associate Director and Senior HR Partner at the University of Sydney, Human Resources Business Partner at the University of Wollongong, and Director of Human Services at the NSW State Emergency Service, among others. David holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, both from the University of Wollongong.
