Jody Black has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry. They started their career at CompWest Insurance as a Director from September 2005 to July 2011. Following that, they joined Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Quality Assurance Manager from July 2011 to December 2017. Currently, Jody is associated with The Surplus Line Association of California, where they have held two positions, first as AVP - Data Analysis since March 2018, and later promoted to Vice President in June 2019.
Jody Black has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from the University of North Texas. Additionally, Jody has a Master's degree in Marketing from Saint Mary's College of California. In terms of additional certifications, Jody obtained a SharePoint Fundamentals certification in August 2018.
The Surplus Line Association of California
The Surplus Line Association of California serves as the statutory surplus line advisory organization to the California Department of Insurance (CDI) and facilitates the state’s capacity to monitor and direct surplus line brokers’ placements of insurance with eligible surplus line insurers. Working with its members and the CDI, the Association assists its members’ compliance with California laws and regulations; helps maintain a healthy, fair, and competitive surplus line marketplace in California; and strives to protect the interests of California insurance consumers.
