Mitchell Mercurio is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in software development and management. Currently serving as the Assistant Vice President of Technology at The Surplus Line Association of California since July 2015, Mitchell also held the position of Software Development Manager. Prior to this role, Mitchell worked as a Consultant at Sapiens Americas from September 1998 to June 2015, and as a Programmer at General Accident Insurance Company in Philadelphia from October 1990 to August 1998. Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University between 1983 and 1986.

The Surplus Line Association of California

The Surplus Line Association of California serves as the statutory surplus line advisory organization to the California Department of Insurance (CDI) and facilitates the state’s capacity to monitor and direct surplus line brokers’ placements of insurance with eligible surplus line insurers. Working with its members and the CDI, the Association assists its members’ compliance with California laws and regulations; helps maintain a healthy, fair, and competitive surplus line marketplace in California; and strives to protect the interests of California insurance consumers.
