Ryan Lelek is an accomplished technology and entrepreneurship professional with a diverse background. As a Thiel Fellow at The Thiel Foundation since May 2012, Ryan has benefited from support to pursue innovative entrepreneurial ventures. In January 2022, Ryan founded Mystiks, demonstrating a commitment to ownership and leadership in business. Previously, from April 2016 to September 2020, Ryan served as a Cyber Security Manager at Capital One, where guidance on building scalable systems and innovative cost-saving strategies led to significant financial efficiencies. Earlier experience includes a role as a Full-Stack Developer at LaunchRock from November 2011 to May 2012. Ryan's educational foundation includes a Core 40 degree with Technical Honors from Lake Central High School, completed in 2010.

Freedom is always under siege. Around the world, authoritarian regimes deprive millions of people of basic economic and social rights. Even elected governments can burden their citizens with labyrinthine bureaucracies and complex, unnecessary laws. And while some regimes are obviously worse than others, they all have apologists who obscure these conditions by twisting the relationship between freedom and human fulfillment.
