Tamara Chayo

Tamara Chayo, PhD, is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of MEDU Protection since May 2020, with extensive experience in various prestigious organizations. Currently, Tamara serves as a Fellow at the 776 Foundation, the Thiel Foundation, Yunus & Youth, and Halcyon, while also being recognized as a Santander X100 fellow. In addition, Tamara is an Alumni and Fellow at Santander X and a Fellow at the Makers Fellowship. Prior to these roles, Tamara served as the President of Consejo Universitario Estudiantil La Salle and was the Founder of MyMexUrb, a project dedicated to sharing Mexican traditions globally. Tamara's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad La Salle, A.C.

Freedom is always under siege. Around the world, authoritarian regimes deprive millions of people of basic economic and social rights. Even elected governments can burden their citizens with labyrinthine bureaucracies and complex, unnecessary laws. And while some regimes are obviously worse than others, they all have apologists who obscure these conditions by twisting the relationship between freedom and human fulfillment.
