Joy Resmovits

Joy Resmovits is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in education and local news. Currently serving as Senior Editor for Local Impact at The Trace since March 2021, Joy develops long-term strategies and oversees the planning and editing of diverse investigative stories. Prior to this role, Joy was the Education Editor and Assistant Metro Editor at The Seattle Times, managing a team to produce impactful stories through the Education Lab project. Previous positions include Editor/Reporter at the Los Angeles Times, where Joy covered key education issues, and Senior Education Reporter at The Huffington Post, focusing on significant education topics and policy. Joy's early career includes various roles at The Forward and internships at prestigious media outlets like Dow Jones and the New York Daily News. Joy holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Barnard College and also attended Columbia University for further studies, including a Spencer Fellowship.
