James Dalton

Executive Vice President and Provost at The University of Alabama

James T. Dalton is an accomplished academic and industry leader with extensive experience in pharmaceutical sciences. Currently serving as the Executive Vice President and Provost at The University of Alabama since August 2020, James also chairs the Scientific Advisory Board for the Partnership for Clean Competition since 2018. Previously, James held the position of Dean and Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Michigan from September 2014 to August 2020, and prior roles include Chief Scientific Officer and VP of Preclinical R&D at GTx, as well as various faculty positions at The Ohio State University and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. James completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical pharmacology at The Ohio State University and earned a PhD in pharmaceutics from the same institution, following a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati.
