Jocelyn Hsu

Jocelyn Hsu is a PhD candidate in Cancer Biology at the University of Chicago, expected to graduate in 2028. As the Founder and President of the University of Chicago Chapter of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), Jocelyn has successfully recruited over 70 students and led initiatives to foster a community for Asian scientists and engineers. Experience as a Graduate Research Assistant in the LaBelle Lab involves investigating immune modulation mechanisms in tumors, alongside rotation positions in the Applebaum and Miao Labs, where significant contributions included analyzing RNAseq data and exploring T-cell mechanisms in cancer. Prior research experience at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center focused on sarcoma cancer, while various roles, including an Undergraduate Student Representative and Teaching Associate, highlight Jocelyn's commitment to academic excellence and student engagement. Jocelyn's educational journey began at Orange High School, graduating Summa Cum Laude, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University.
