Nootan Bharani

Nootan Bharani, AIA, serves as the Associate Director of Cultural Stewardship and University Partnerships at Arts + Public Life since August 2023. Bharani has been a Lecturer in the Humanities Division at the University of Chicago since March 2019, developing and teaching a studio course titled Architecture of Memory. As a Co-Founder of N|A Designlab since January 2000, Bharani emphasizes humanistic values and collaborative design processes. Prior experience includes roles such as Associate Director of Design and University Partnerships at Arts + Public Life from September 2017 to September 2023, and Design Lead at Place Lab from September 2014 to September 2017, where Bharani contributed to urban redevelopment strategies. Other positions held include Managing Director and Architect at CB&I, Associate at Kuklinski+Rappe Architects, and Architectural Intern at various firms. Bharani's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, with studies at EPFL and the University of Lausanne.
