Smita Singh

Smita Singh is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in higher education and law firms. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel at the University of Chicago since April 2015, Smita previously held the position of Assistant General Counsel at the same institution. Prior legal experience includes working as an Associate at Ropes & Gray LLP from January 2010 to March 2015 and as an Analyst at Mercer Management Consulting between June 2005 and May 2006. Smita earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Yale Law School from 2006 to 2009 and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics and Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completing studies there from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, Smita is an alumna of Phillips Academy Andover.
