Brett Carey has extensive work experience in human resources and leadership roles. Brett has worked at The University of Kansas Health System since 2020, first as the Vice President of Human Resources and then as the System Director of Total Rewards & HCM-Analytics. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance employee services, engagement, and career development. Prior to their current position, Brett held various HR roles at Hallmark Cards from 1990 to 2020, including HR Director and Senior HR Consultant, where they focused on compensation, recognition, global mobility, and strategic business initiatives. Additionally, Brett served as the President and VP of Professional Development at Total Rewards KC from 2013 to 2019.
Brett Carey holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in General Business from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Brett also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of Kansas School of Business. In addition to their degrees, Brett Carey has received certifications in CCP (WorldatWork) and Fierce Conversations (Fierce, Inc.), as well as a GRP certification (WorldatWork).
