Matthew Gibson is a Chair (Professor) of Sustainable Biomaterials at The University of Manchester since October 2023. Previously, Matthew held various academic positions at the University of Warwick from December 2009 to October 2023, including Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor, focusing on interdisciplinary research in biomaterials science and healthcare challenges. Additionally, Matthew is a Director and co-founder of Cryologyx, established in February 2021, which specializes in innovative cryopreservation platforms. Earlier experience includes a postdoctoral research fellowship at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne and postgraduate research at Durham University, where Matthew earned a PhD in Macromolecular Chemistry. Educational qualifications include a 1st Class MChem degree in Chemistry from Durham University.
