David FitzPatrick currently serves as Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Nottingham since June 2024. Previously, FitzPatrick held the position of inaugural President at Technological University Dublin from January 2019 to June 2024. Between September 2011 and January 2019, FitzPatrick was College Principal and Dean of Engineering at University College Dublin, and also acted as Provost for the Beijing Dublin International College, which offers dual degree programmes in collaboration with Beijing University of Technology. Earlier in their career, FitzPatrick served as Vice-Principal for the College of Engineering & Architecture and Senior Development Manager at DePuy International from 1991 to 1998. FitzPatrick earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Orthopaedic Mechanics from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin.
