Chen Tang

Chen Tang currently serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin, working under the supervision of Prof. Peter Stone at the Learning Agents Research Group. Prior to this role, Chen was a Postdoctoral Scholar in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where leadership of behavior-related research activities for autonomous driving was undertaken at the Mechanical Systems Control Lab, guided by Prof. Masayoshi Tomizuka. From 2016 to 2022, Chen contributed as a Graduate Student Researcher at the same institution, also under Prof. Tomizuka. Relevant industry experience includes internships at Waymo and Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. Chen holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering (Control) from the University of California, Berkeley, where an exchange program was also completed at Georgia Institute of Technology.
