Valery Polkovnichenko is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in both academia and public service. Currently serving as Principal Economist at the Federal Reserve Board since 2017 and as Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas since 2013, Valery has a robust background in economic research and finance education. Prior to these roles, Valery held positions as an Economist at the Federal Reserve Board from 2011 to 2013 and as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas from 2006 to 2011, as well as at the Carlson School of Management from 1999 to 2006. Valery earned a PhD in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Diploma in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
