The Urban Equity Institute
Ishaan B. is an accomplished undergraduate at Columbia University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Political Science, expected to graduate in June 2026. Ishaan currently serves as a Summer Intern at FTI Consulting and holds multiple leadership positions at The Urban Equity Institute, including Co-Director of the City Governance and Politics Practice and Executive Director of the Immigration and Human Rights Practice. Additional roles include being a Harriman Institute Undergraduate Research Fellow and Co-President of the Latenite Theatre at Columbia University. Ishaan's extensive experience in various research and advisory positions, such as Senior Advisor at the Columbia Global Research and Consulting Group and Congressional Reform Summer Research Intern at The Sunwater Institute, complements a commitment to community engagement through work with the NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs. Education was also enhanced through participation in the Middlebury Language Schools and a summer program at Harvard University.

The Urban Equity Institute
The Urban Equity Institute (UEI) is a public, social science research think tank and social impact firm that addresses a critical need to create substantive solutions to urban issues in New York, the US, and worldwide. We mobilizing critical humanities, policy research, social sciences, and urban studies to solve urgent public issues. Our work is 100% human-driven and human-centered. We publish diverse and open-ended social science scholarship in our journal SCOPE, which is research-minded and magazine-focused, to help foreground different perspectives among our scholars. We partner with local groups to develop social impact solutions to pressing problems within underserved areas and mobilize rigorous policy research to do so. The UEI systematically addresses urgent and evolving urban issues that challenge our world today.
