Spencer Jakab

Spencer Jakab is an accomplished financial journalist currently serving as the Global Editor of the Heard on the Street column at The Wall Street Journal since January 2012, after previously holding the position of Deputy Editor and writing the Ahead of the Tape column. Prior experience includes roles as a columnist for the Financial Times, where Spencer contributed to the Lex Column and the On Wall Street column, and as a columnist for Dow Jones, where "Taking Stock" was initiated. Spencer's career began at Credit Suisse as the Head of EEMEA Research, overseeing a team covering emerging markets, and included a foundational role at Coopers & Lybrand in corporate finance. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Brandeis University.
