Manuel Canales

Manuel Canales is currently serving as the Graphics Assignment Editor at The Washington Post since August 2022. Prior to this role, Manuel was the Senior Graphic Editor at National Geographic from March 2015 to July 2022, where significant contributions were made to the development of information graphics and illustrations for both print and digital platforms. Manuel's extensive experience also includes various positions at GN Medios Grupo Nación, including Editor In Chief of Digital Design and Infographics, Editor de Infografía, Jefe de Infografía, and Infografista from January 2001 to February 2015. Manuel holds a Licentiate degree in Commercial and Advertising Art from Universidad de las Ciencias y el Arte de Costa Rica and a Bachelor's degree in Commercial and Advertising Art from Universidad Autónoma de Centro América.
