YMCA of the USA
Paul McEntire oversees Y-USA’s delivery of services and resources to YMCAs and its talent and knowledge management, government relations, finance and information technology departments.
A 22-year YMCA professional, McEntire came to Y-USA in August 2018 from the YMCA of Greater Houston, where he served as Chief Operating Officer for three years before becoming President and CEO in 2014. During his tenure, the Houston Y opened a new resident camp and a new facility, with plans underway for another, significantly expanded the work of the International Services branch and launched Go for Green, which provides swim lessons to more than 3,000 day campers at no cost to their families.
Before going to Houston, McEntire served in several leadership roles with the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast in Jacksonville, including President and CEO from 2007 to 2011. He previously was Executive Director of the Venice YMCA, a branch of the South County YMCA (now the Sky Family YMCA) in Florida.
At the national level, he was a member of the Y-USA Board of Directors in 2017 and 2018.

YMCA of the USA is the national resource office for the nation's YMCAs. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, YMCA of the USA exists to serve YMCAs. To address the specific needs of communities, each YMCA is an independent organization, autonomous and separate from YMCA of the USA. They are required by the national constitution to pay annual dues, to refrain from discrimination and to support the YMCA mission. All other decisions are local choices, including programs offered, staffing and style of operation.
