Justin Mitchell

Justin Mitchell currently serves as the Managing Editor, Audience at The Times-Picayune | Nola.com since October 2023. Previously, Justin held the position of Senior News Editor at Sun Herald from October 2021 to September 2023, leading content strategy and overseeing a diverse team of 10 journalists. Prior to that, Justin was Deputy Editor for Audience, Growth and Retention at McClatchy, managing audience growth initiatives across multiple newsrooms, and served as Digital Director at The Clarion-Ledger. Justin's career began at Sun Herald in 2012 as an Audience Growth Editor, focusing on digital strategy and audience engagement. Justin earned both a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and Journalism and a Master's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from The University of Southern Mississippi.
