The Learning Experience
Steven Simon has a diverse work experience in the broadcast journalism industry. Steven began their career as a News Anchor at WFXL Fox 31 TV in 1991 before moving on to work as a General Assignment Reporter at WHNT News 19 in 1992. In 1994, they joined WCMH-TV, NBC4, nbc4i.com as a General Assignment Reporter before transitioning to WSVN-TV as a General Assignment Reporter managing breaking and daily news coverage.
In the year 2000, Steven joined KIAH-TV as an Anchor/Reporter, where they spearheaded special series and stories, improving operational procedures at regional entities, and increasing ratings during their time as the main anchor. Steven also received awards for their reporting from the Texas Associated Press. Steven later took on the role of Executive Producer, overseeing NewsFix in Houston and making it more viewer-friendly by creating new segment ideas. The show became successful, targeting a younger audience and competing competitively in its time slot.
From 2013 to 2018, Steven served as the News Director at KDAF-TV, where they successfully launched NewsFix in Dallas, recruited and trained a large staff, and established the show's infrastructure and editorial direction, resulting in increased digital traction and ratings.
Most recently, Steven joined The Learning Experience in 2023 as the Vice President of Brand Integration, utilizing their expertise in media and content to contribute to the company's growth and success.
Steven Simon completed their Bachelor's Degree in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin, although the start and end years are unknown. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University, which they completed from 1990 to 1991.
