Monica Baig-Silva

Monica Baig-Silva is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property, particularly within the life sciences sector. Currently serving as Vice President of Intellectual Property at Thermo Fisher Scientific since July 2021, Monica oversees global IP matters for the Bioproduction, Clinical Research, and Pharma Services Groups. Prior roles at Thermo Fisher include Division IP Counsel and Business Unit IP Counsel for the Ion Torrent Division. Monica has also contributed to community initiatives as a board member for the National Charity League San Diego Del Norte Chapter and Ava's Angels. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law along with a Master’s and Ph.D. in Bioengineering, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the same institution.
