Laura Jimenez has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in project management and translation. Laura began their career at THG Fluently in 2018, where they served as the Lead Project Manager for the Translation Team. In this role, Laura managed the translation and localization of various projects, including website rebrands and legal texts. Laura also built relationships with clients, provided consulting support, and developed efficient solutions to meet their language requirements. Additionally, Laura was responsible for vendor management, recruitment, and training language specialists. Laura successfully coordinated the translation of over 20 million words for a major online beauty retailer. Laura also spearheaded the transcreation division, identified business opportunities, and drafted style guides and glossary templates to preserve brand identity.
Prior to their role at THG Fluently, Laura worked as a Translation Project Manager at Ubiqus in 2017. Laura also gained experience as a freelance translator at Word Perfect Translations and as an Assistant Translator and intern in Project Management at DocsBase Certified Translation Services.
Earlier in their career, Laura completed an internship at Hedapen Global Services, where they gained experience in technical-scientific translation and project management. Laura also interned at Universidad de Deusto, conducting a competence/objective-based analysis of postgraduate courses and creating a report on their functionality.
Laura's work experience also includes a brief role as a private tutor, specifically teaching Latin to secondary school students and preparing them for university entrance exams.
Laura Jimenez completed their education with a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Literary Translation from Trinity College Dublin in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages, Literature, and Linguistics from the University of Deusto in 2016. In 2015, they also participated in the Erasmus+ program at the University College Cork, focusing on Translation studies and Translation Technologies. Additionally, Laura has obtained various certifications in Digital Marketing, Project Management, Localization, and language proficiency, such as DELF B2 and Cambridge Proficiency. Laura is also certified in SDL Trados Studio 2014.
