Gelys Trancho is a highly experienced professional in the field of systems engineering and astrophysics, with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as a Project Systems Engineer at TMT International Observatory LLC since August 2015, Gelys has held various leadership roles within the organization, including Systems Engineer Group Leader and acting Systems Engineer Group Lead. Prior to this, Gelys worked at the Giant Magellan Telescope Organization as a Configuration Manager and Senior AO Systems Engineer from July 2011 to July 2015. Additional experience includes positions at Gemini Observatory, Telescope Nazionale Galileo, Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, and Gran Telescopio de Canarias, S.A. Gelys holds a PhD in Astrophysics and a degree in Physics, both obtained from Universidad de La Laguna.
