Alex Shmelev

Alex Shmelev is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in developing innovative AI-driven solutions. Currently serving as the CTO and Chief Innovation Officer at ThisWay Global since January 2017, Alex has led the creation of scalable technologies for integrating proprietary data and AI models, as well as standardized APIs and automated deployment platforms for continuous model training. Prior to ThisWay Global, Alex held significant roles at NerdWallet as an Enterprise Architect, where responsibilities included designing an asynchronous-push messaging system and integrating AI/ML models, and at 4SITE by CORT as Chief Enterprise Architect, focusing on high-volume IoT messaging systems. At KPMG Australia, Alex developed cloud-based real-time AI analytics engines and contributed to patent writing. Alex holds a degree from UCLA, obtained between 1980 and 1983.
