Michael Dwyer has a strong background in internal audit. Michael began their career as a Premium Auditor at Liberty Mutual in 2007, working until 2008. Michael then joined the Police and Fire Federal Credit Union in 2011, starting as an Internal Auditor and later being promoted to Senior Internal Auditor, a role they held until 2015. In 2015, they joined Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals as a Senior Internal Auditor, eventually transitioning to the role of Internal Audit Manager in 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Director, Internal Audit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, starting in 2023.

Michael Dwyer holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting from Penn State University. Michael also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware. Additionally, they have been certified as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), obtained from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in 2017. Michael also holds the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certifications, both obtained in 2014 from The Institute of Internal Auditors.
