Rene Alvarez

Rene Alvarez currently serves as the Chief of the Jefferson Heart Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, a position held since October 2018. Prior to this role, Rene Alvarez worked as a Physician at Temple University Hospital from April 2012 to October 2018. Rene Alvarez completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine focusing on Heart Failure and Transplantation at Johns Hopkins University Hospital from July 1993 to July 1997. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, obtained between 1983 and 1990, as well as training at Temple University Hospital and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.
