Alexey Melishchuk

Alexey Melishchuk, PhD has over two decades of experience in technology commercialization, investment banking, and business development. Alexey currently serves as the Director of Technology Licensing at Thomas Jefferson University, where they are responsible for commercializing technologies in various industries, with a focus on cancer treatment, infectious diseases, and surgical medical devices. Prior to their current role, they held positions at Drexel University as the Associate Director of Licensing, Janney Montgomery Scott as an Assistant Vice President in Investment Banking, and the Science Center as a Consultant for BioAdvance. Dr. Melishchuk has also worked as a Business Development Consultant for Neose Technologies and Immunicon, Inc. and as a Senior Licensing Manager at the University of Pennsylvania. Alexey began their career as a Research Associate at the University of Pennsylvania, conducting experimental research in the field of voltage-gated ion channels. Throughout their career, Dr. Melishchuk has demonstrated expertise in evaluating and protecting intellectual property, negotiating agreements, conducting market research, and advising on fundraising and M&A transactions in the healthcare industry.

Alexey Melishchuk, PhD completed their education in various institutions. Alexey obtained their MS and BS degrees in Biochemistry and Biophysics, Applied Physics & Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) between 1983 and 1989. Later, from 1987 to 1993, they pursued their PhD in Biophysics at Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology in Kyiv, Ukraine. Additionally, Alexey Melishchuk completed corporate finance and macroeconomics courses at The Wharton School in 2001. Furthermore, they obtained a Series 7 certification from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in August 2006.
