Carissa Schmitz, SPHR, serves as the Vice President of People Strategy & Consulting at Thomson Reuters, a role held since October 2006. With a focus on developing the enterprise people strategy for a $6 billion global organization comprising 25,000 employees, Carissa collaborates with HR teams and centers of excellence to establish priorities, set ambitious OKRs, and evaluate outcomes. Previous positions at Thomson Reuters include Senior Director of HR Strategy & Planning, Director of HR Consulting, and Director of HR Strategy & Planning for the Legal Business Unit, where efforts concentrated on values, culture, diversity, inclusion, and process improvement. Carissa began their career as a recruiter at Thomson Reuters after working as a Senior Recruiter/Operations Manager at Volt Services Group. Carissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing/Communications from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
