Alex Cable is an accomplished entrepreneur and executive with extensive experience in the photonics and microelectromechanical systems industries. Currently serving as President and CEO of Thorlabs Inc, founded in 1989, Alex has led the company to become a prominent manufacturer of photonics products with over 1500 employees across eight countries. Alex also holds positions on the boards of multiple companies, including Castor Optics, which focuses on double-clad fiber optic couplers, and Boston Micromachines Corp, a leader in MEMS-based mirror products. Previously, Alex worked at Bell Laboratories and co-founded several companies including Menlo Systems GmbH and NovaPhase. Alex holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Materials Science from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Rutgers University.
