Brent Protzman

Brent is the director of Standards Development and Building Science for Lutron Electronics, Inc. Brent leads an organization whose charter is to take care of Lutron’s customers and facilitate the growth of the industry. The team supports the development of effective standards, regulations, and industry guidelines. In addition, the team’s research and collaborations in the area of building performance are often at the forefront of engineering, design innovation, and market growth.

Brent has a Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Nebraska and is a former professor and researcher in the Building Systems Program at the University of Colorado where he focused on lighting control systems, human factors in lighting, and daylighting performance. Brent also serves on the Board of Directors for the AERC (Attachment Energy Ratings Council) and ESFI (Electrical Safety Foundation International).
