Rod Love (MCIPS) has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of procurement and vendor management. Rod has held key positions in various companies, starting with their current role as the Head of Procurement, Vendor Management and Facilities at Thredd since 2023.
Prior to this, Rod worked as a Procurement Director at GRN PROCUREMENT LTD from 2013 to 2023. In this role, they covered a range of industries and categories, including senior supply chain management for a global telecoms firm, global head of indirect procurement for a FTSE 100 technology firm, and head of procurement and supplier management in a corporate investment bank, among others.
Before their position at GRN PROCUREMENT LTD, Rod served as the Procurement Project Lead at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation from 2021 to 2022, where they successfully led a centralized procurement program in the EMEA region and achieved significant cost reduction savings.
Rod Love also has experience as a Partner at TCG - Partners Ltd, an independent advisory firm focused on effective procurement solutions for organizations. During their tenure from 2013 to 2020, they helped various organizations reduce costs, improve business processes, mitigate third-party risks, increase equity value, and provided outsourced procurement services.
Prior to joining TCG, Rod was the Head of Vendor Management and Procurement at Standard Bank from 2010 to 2013. Rod managed a team of seven and was responsible for setting up and developing a strategic sourcing function in an international investment bank.
Rod's earlier career includes roles such as Senior Commercial Manager at LCH.Clearnet from 2006 to 2010, Supply Chain Consultant at Royal & SunAlliance from 2002 to 2006, Supply Chain Manager at Alcatel from 1998 to 2002, and Executive Officer at the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED), UK from 1994 to 1998.
Throughout their career, Rod Love has demonstrated expertise and achievements in procurement, vendor management, cost reduction, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and business process improvement.
Rod Love (MCIPS) attended Brunel University London from 1990 to 1993, where they graduated with a Ba Hons degree in American Studies and History.
