Tidewater Community College
David Alger has extensive experience in education and technology, currently serving as faculty at Tidewater Community College since January 2001, teaching a variety of computer courses alongside mentoring advanced IT students. Beyond academia, David has held a leadership role as a Seventy with the Community of Christ since 1992. Previously, David served in the United States Navy from January 1977 to September 1999 as a Senior Chief Radioman, where responsibilities included acting as a Y2K Action Officer to ensure systems' operational integrity. David holds a B.S. in Sociology from the University of the State of New York and an A.S. in Education from Tidewater Community College.

Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College (TCC) serves South Hampton Roads with campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce development services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 34,000 students annually—the second largest undergraduate student body in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is the 11th largest public two-year community college in the entire nation.
