Jari Pirhonen

Jari Pirhonen has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Jari began their career as a Programmer at Joen Mikrotalo in 1984 and later worked as an Instructor at Kuopion Ammatillinen Kurssikeskus in 1988. Jari then joined Hewlett-Packard as a Consultant in 1989.

In 1998, Jari Pirhonen became an Information Security Manager & Consultant at Atbusiness Communications, where they played a vital role in developing company information security policy, advising management on security issues, and integrating security into internal software development processes. Jari also provided consulting, project management, and training in various customer projects.

Moving forward, Jari Pirhonen joined Oy Samlink Ab in 2004 as a Security Director. Jari was responsible for corporate security, including information security and customer security services. During their tenure, they performed roles as both the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

In 2017, Jari Pirhonen joined Tieto as the Chief Security Officer, where they continued to oversee corporate security, including information security. Additionally, they assumed the role of CISO, further enhancing their responsibilities within the company.

Most recently, in 2020, Jari Pirhonen joined Tietoevry, a leading Nordic software and services company. Here, they served as the Head of Corporate Security and Chief Security Officer, leading a multinational security team. Their role involved ensuring the highest standards of quality, security, and privacy, driving strategic improvements and customer engagement. Jari also worked with relevant external stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor in the field of quality and security, legislation, and privacy.

Throughout their career, Jari Pirhonen has demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and expertise in security and privacy, making valuable contributions to various organizations.

Jari Pirhonen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and mathematics from the University of Eastern Finland in 1986. In 2006, they completed The Continuing Professional Development Programme for Security Management at Helsinki University of Technology, Lifelong Learning Institute Dipoli (TKK Dipoli). Additionally, they attended Reserve Officer School in 1987-1988. Jari Pirhonen has also obtained several certifications in various fields, including cybersecurity, AI, and board membership. Some of these certifications were received from institutions such as Microsoft, University of Helsinki, and ISACA.
