Kara Bobroff

Kara is a Diné and Lakota educator and leader who serves Indigenous youth and communities by creating spaces of learning devoted to culturally and linguistically relevant, Indigenized knowledge, holistic well-being, and land-based learning practices. Kara has dedicated her career to Indigenous Education and was the founding principal and Executive Director of the Native American Community Academy (NACA) and the NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN). Kara served on President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and as the past New Mexico Public Education Department Deputy Secretary for Identity, Equity and Transformation. In 2020, she founded One Generation, a project that creates transformative social change through Indigenous-led programs and partnerships that solve problems, advance equity, and serve Indigenous peoples and communities throughout the nation and locally.
