Chris Coates

Chris Coates is an accomplished aerospace professional currently serving as Head of Programmes and PMO at Tokamak Energy since June 2025. Previously, Chris held various leadership roles at Vertical Aerospace, including Senior Technical Programme Manager and Senior Programme Manager, where significant contributions were made in propeller system delivery for prototype aircraft and successful coordination of the test programme. Prior experience includes positions at Deloitte as Sustainable Mobility Manager, GE Aviation as 777X Entry Into Service Programme Manager, and extensive military service in the Royal Air Force, where roles spanned from Continuing Airworthiness Manager for the VIP fleet to Lead Flight Test Engineer. Chris holds a Master of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol and additional qualifications in Renewable Energy Systems Technology and Strategic Direction and Leadership.
