Nihal M. is a highly experienced engineering professional with a strong background in powertrain systems and mechanical design. Currently serving as a Senior Staff System Engineer at Tonal since April 2021, Nihal has successfully developed processes that reduced powertrain costs by 30% and created prototype motor designs to optimize performance metrics. Prior roles include Lead Powertrain Engineer at Uber, where vehicle simulations were utilized to enhance configurations, and Sr. Mechanical Engineer at Wisk, where Nihal designed the world's first manned eVTOL battery pack. Additional experience includes positions at Tesla Motors, MillenWorks, Performance Friction, and leading the UC Berkeley Formula SAE team to achieve top finishes.
