Gavin (50) is an accomplished business executive with considerable experience in diverse and challenging markets within the alcoholic beverages industry. He was previously the Beer Group President and Chief Executive Officer of Anadolu Efes, a company listed on the Turkish stock exchange. Prior to this, Gavin served as the Managing Director of Anadolu Efes’ beer businesses in Turkey and Russia and spent 26 years within SABMiller, holding senior roles both in South Africa and internationally.
He was appointed to the Tongaat Hulett Board on 1 February 2019

It operates over four wet-milling plants located in Kliprivier, Germiston and Meyerton in Gauteng and Bellville in the Western Cape. It converts over 630, 000 tons of bought-in maize per annum into starch and starch-based products. It also manufactures a range of products, from unmodified maize starch to glucose products, which are ingredients for manufacturers of foodstuffs, beverages and a range of industrial products. Its animal feeds operation, Voermol Feeds, manufactures and markets a range of energy and supplementary feeds. Its starch, glucose and feed ingredient brands include Amryal cornstarch, Hydex and Vaalgold Gluten. The Company's Sorbitol facility is located in Chloorkop in Gauteng.
