Hugo de Barros Viegas

Hugo de Barros Viegas is an experienced internal medicine specialist currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Emergency Department at Centro Hospitalar de Setúbal and as the first investigator for the VICTORION-Prevent study. Viegas has been actively involved in various studies, including AVANTI and VITALITY, and leads the Heart Failure Clinic while coordinating the heart failure inpatient ward at Uniica. With post-graduate training in several critical areas such as diabetes mellitus, palliative care, and heart failure, Viegas also plays a vital role in healthcare software development as a co-founder of Reconquering Medicine. Viegas has contributed to the field as a scientific consultant for Tonic App, the moderator of a heart failure discussion group, and as a medical consultant for software development at OutSystems. Educational qualifications include a master's degree in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lisbon.
