John East

John East served as CEO of Actel Corporation for 22 years until his retirement in 2010, when the company was acquired by Microsemi Corporation. Previously, he was senior vice president of AMD, where he oversaw the Logic Products Group. Mr. East has held various engineering, marketing and management positions at Raytheon Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor, and was a board member at Adaptec, Zehntel, MCC and Single Chip Systems. He is currently on the board of directors at Alacritech, a private company involved in the data storage market, Atrenta, a supplier of design tools to the IC designer community and Pericom, a supplier of serial connectivity enabling integrated circuits. Mr. East holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley.
