Desislava Kuzeva has a strong background in cell and molecular biology, with experience working in both academic and laboratory settings. Desislava joined Touchlight in 2022 as a Cell and Molecular Biologist. Prior to that, they worked at King's College London, first as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist from July 2017 to November 2022, and then as a PhD Candidate in Cell and Molecular Biology from October 2017 to June 2022. During their time at King's College London, they focused on investigating the effect of a cancer-associated polymorphism on cancer cell proliferation and genomic integrity. Desislava also supervised and trained undergraduate and postgraduate students and provided training for new users of microscope systems. Before joining King's College London, Desislava Kuzeva gained experience as a Summer Intern in Cancer Immunology at King's College London in 2016 and as a Laboratory Technician at the Molecular Medicine Centre in 2015. Desislava also worked as a Laboratory Technician at the National Genetic Laboratory in 2014 and as a Summer Intern in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Medical University of Sofia in 2014.
Desislava Kuzeva completed their education in a chronological manner, starting with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology and Molecular Genetics from King's College London in 2016. Following this, they pursued a Master of Research degree in Cancer Biology at Imperial College London from 2016 to 2017. Finally, they completed their highest level of education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from King's College London between 2017 and 2022.
