Touro Infirmary
Dr. Ellen Zakris is Touro’s Director of Radiation Oncology. She is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine and performed her residency at Harvard Medical School. She has extensive experience in comprehensive cancer treatment with special interest in breast, gynecological, pediatric, prostate, lung, and central nervous system (CNS) malignancies. Dr. Zakris treats adult radiation oncology patients at Touro as well as pediatric radiation oncology patients from Children’s Hospital. She serves on the boards of several local organizations, including the New Orleans Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Touro Synagogue.

Touro is a teaching hospital offering medical student and post-graduate medical training. Touro has academic affiliations with Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and Tulane University Health Science Center, offering training programs to hundreds of students, residents, and fellows annually in a variety of specialties.
