Town of Superior
Alex Haefling is a Planning Technician at the Town of Superior since July 2023. Previous experience includes serving as an FNIS Associate at Zayo Group, where Alex built a geospatial database and implemented a communication plan to enhance project productivity. As a Geographic Information Systems Consultant for Commuting Solutions, Alex improved collaboration on cross-jurisdictional projects and refined an interactive map. At Growing Up Boulder, Alex designed a successful Child-Friendly City Map and created its digital version. In the role of Transportation Planning Specialist for the City of Boulder, Alex developed transportation materials and analyzed data trends to inform budgeting and program needs. Additionally, as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, Alex recorded GIS tutorials and provided mentorship in urban planning. Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Planning and Design from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Superior is a statutory town in Boulder County, Colorado and was founded in 1896 and incorporated in 1904. The Town reportedly was named after the "superior" quality of coal found in the area. The Town has a well-educated, family-centered population of 13,189 residents within 4 square miles along the productive US 36 corridor.
