Pedro Lopes has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of data engineering, analytics, and AI. Pedro is currently serving as the Head of Data Engineering and Analytics at Tracer since September 2022. Prior to that, Pedro worked at Noesis as the Manager of the AI Team from January 2021 to September 2022 and as the Team Leader of AI & Big Data from January 2018 to January 2021. Pedro also briefly worked at Rumos - Portugal as a DS Former from February 2018 to May 2018.
Pedro has also held the position of Big Data Scientist at Aptoide from April 2016 to December 2017. Before that, they worked at Deloitte Portugal as a Consultant, where they specialized in enterprise application, business intelligence, and predictive analytics tools. Pedro developed predictive models in R and Python and created interactive tools with advanced analytics during their tenure from April 2015 to April 2016. Prior to that role, Pedro worked as a Business Analyst at Deloitte Portugal from April 2014 to March 2015.
Furthermore, Pedro has experience in production engineering at Crown Holdings, Inc. from April 2013 to March 2014. In this position, they were responsible for analyzing and reporting production data, developing analysis and visualization tools for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and introducing business intelligence in a factory environment.
Pedro Lopes has a diverse educational background. Pedro obtained a Licentiate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Intituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Pedro also pursued a Master's degree in Business Intelligence from NOVA IMS Information Management School from 2013 to 2015.
In terms of certifications, Pedro obtained several in-demand certifications. Pedro completed the AWS Advance Architecture program at Amazon Web Services in November 2019. In October 2018, they obtained the StreamSets Certification from StreamSets Inc. Pedro also holds a certification in Project Management, which they obtained from TenStep, Inc. in September 2017. In addition, they received training as a trainer for R Statistical Software from EMEA Boot Camp Deloitte BE in March 2016. Pedro has proficiency in Python, which they acquired through training at Deloitte UK in August 2015. Finally, they completed the Spark Course Developer program provided by Databricks in August 2015.
